Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN)

Overview

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a central sector scheme with 100% funding from the Government of India. The scheme aims to supplement the financial needs of all landholding farmers' families in procuring various inputs to ensure proper crop health and appropriate yields, commensurate with the anticipated farm income.

Benefits

• Under the scheme, an income support of ₹6,000/- per year is provided to all farmer families.
• The amount is provided in three equal installments of ₹2,000/- each, every four months.
• The fund is directly transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries (Direct Benefit Transfer - DBT).

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the PM-Kisan scheme, farmers must meet the following criteria:

• Must be an Indian citizen.
• Must own cultivable land in their name.
• Farmers from both urban and rural areas can apply.
• Small and marginal farmers are eligible.

Required Documents

Applicants must keep the following documents ready before applying:

• Aadhaar Card
• Citizenship certificate
• Landholding papers
• Bank account details (Passbook)
• Active Mobile Number

How to Apply

1. Visit the official PM-Kisan portal: pmkisan.gov.in
2. Click on 'New Farmer Registration' under the Farmers Corner.
3. Select Rural or Urban Farmer Registration.
4. Enter your Aadhaar Number, Mobile Number, select your state, and fill the captcha.
5. Click on 'Get OTP' and verify your mobile number.
6. Fill out the complete registration form with land details and bank information.
7. Submit the form and take a printout for future reference.
